THE Second International Military Sports Council (CISM) Shotgun Championship will be held at the Losail Shooting Range on Friday and Saturday.
The event, open only to military personnel, is conducted under the aegis of the Qatar Shooting and Archery Association (QSAA) and Qatar Military Sport Association (QMSA).
Competitions will be held in trap (125 targets) and skeet (75 targets), team and individual, for both men and women.
Shooters from 67 nations of the 133 associate members of CISM have confirmed their participation in the event, which will be held under the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) rules.
“The number of participants for the ISSF-sanctioned event is limited to 105 each in both genders in skeet and trap events. Only military personnel on active duty with a military ID card can participate,” said QSAA President Mohammed bin Ali Al Ghanim Al Maadeed.
By Nawaf Al-Deqbasi (with photos) DOHA, Oct 29 (KUNA) — Kuwait are set to take part in the world military sports body’s (CISM) Second International Shotgun Championship in Doha, Qatar which starts on Wednesday.
Three military team shooters will represent Kuwait at the four-day competition beginning on October 30, which is being organised by the Qatar Shooting and Archery Association, chief delegate Col Khaled Al-Enezi told KUNA.
All three will be competing in the skeet and trap categories of the event after receiving training at both the Shooting Range Complex in Kuwait and in Qatar, he added.
The decision to participate in the competition was made by the Kuwait Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Sheikh Khaled Al-Jarrah Al-Sabah and the Armed Forces Deputy Chief-of-Staff Lt Gen Abdulrahman Al-Othman.
The competition is set to be held at Lusail Shooting Club, situated 18km north of Doha, and will witness military shooters from 14 nations.

KARACHI: Six marksmen of Pakistan are to take part in the 2nd CISM International Shotgun Tournament to be held at Doha, Qatar, from October 30 to November 2 under the auspices of International Military Sports Council.
Sources informed ‘The News’ that the team would comprise Army’s Colonel Fakhar and Brigadier Zafar and Navy’s Abdul Sattar, Asif Mehmood, Waheed Aalam, and Mubeen. They will take part in Skeet and Trap events. The team has been selected after trials held recently at Jhelum.
All the competitions will be conducted in Lusail Shooting Complex, which is equipped with Laporte target throwing machines and electronic scoreboards.
The competitions will be held in the following events: Trap (men) 125 targets (team and individual); Skeet (men) 125 targets (team and individual); Trap (women) 75 targets (team and individual); and Skeet (women) 75 targets (team and individual). Participants must be military personnel on active duty with the armed forces of their country.
