1st European Games Baku (AZE)

At least 335 shooters from 48 countries will take part in the 1st European Games in Baku, Azerbaijan. 203 men and 132 women will compete in 15 individual and 4 Mixed Team Events. Nearly 450 starts are expected in the individual events where besides medals the athletes will have a chance to win the desired Quota places for the Games of the XXXI Olympiad in Rio de Janeiro.

Russia will be represented in Baku by 28 shooters, Italy – by 23, Germany – by 22, France – by 18. Another 11 countries – Czech Republic, Ukraine, Great Britain, Croatia, Hungary, Serbia, Spain, Poland, Slovakia, Azerbaijan  and Switzerland – will have from 10 to 14 participants of the shooting competitions.

In individual Men competitions the biggest number of competitors is expected in 50m Rifle Prone. 37 athletes have been registered for this event. 35 participants will compete for the victory in 10m Air Rifle, 33 – in 10m Air Pistol and 50m Rifle 3 Positions, 32 – in Trap, 31 – in Skeet, 30 – in 50m Pistol, 21 – in 25m RFP and 16 – in Double Trap.

In individual Women competitions 39 athletes have been registered for 10m Air Rifle, 36 – in 10m Air Pistol, 34 – in 50m Rifle 3 Positions, 29 – in 25m Pistol, 20 – in Trap and 19 – in Skeet.

Numerous participants are expected also in Mixed Team Events. Russia, Germany, Italy and France, for example, are going to compete in all four events – 10m Air Rifle, 10m Air Pistol, Trap and Skeet, Azerbaijan and Ukraine – in three. Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Hungary, Georgia, Greece, Latvia, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Serbia, Spain, Switzerland, Sweden, Turkey have confirmed already their participation in one or two team competitions.baku

General Assembly 2015 Kuwait

logo-70th-CISM-GA-and-Congress_600X400The Presidents of the Sports Committees have been in session to be informed about the “core business” projects of the CISM.  The Secretary General, Colonel Mamby Koita thanked the PCSC for their commitment and reiterates the support of CSIM in their efforts. Without sport, CISM does not exist !!

As you can see the CISM Shooting Sport is very good represented.

The Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) has applied to host the 2019 Military World Games (MWG) at Wuhan, capital of central China’s Hubei province, according to the PLA on Wednesday.

The MWG, organized by the International Military Sports Council (IMSC), is held every four years. More than 8,000 contestants from about 100 countries take part in 24 categories of sports events, with the games usually lasting seven to 10 days.

The first MWG was held in Italy in 1995, and the sixth will be held in the Republic of Korea in October.

The IMSC is the biggest organizer of sports events for countries’ armed forces. The PLA joined the IMSC in 1978.

The various sport shooting matches bring forward many exciting moments and medals for CISM athletes who take part. Also many tickets to Rio 2016 are earned by the participants who achieve good results and sportsmanship which can be followed live via ISSF stream. More news here and pictures here.
